​"Mended" is a series that explores the philosophy in repairing objects in a disposable world. It explores the similarities between mending an object and mending one-self, sometimes each other. As a leatherworker, i mend a lot of items that people hold dear.

When mending these items I also mend a memory, a link to the past, an emotion. Sometimes an item gets mended beyond recognition into something new. Other times we preserve the memory as true to how it was originally, so as not to forget. Often, it is the goal to forget the past and move forward in a new direction. 

​

These possessions I mend, are often much more than possessions, they are small fragments of your life and are now part of mine.
